Too Sexy for the Superbowl →
Hot lusty vegetarians, clean race car girls and getting down with breaking the 7th commandment.. or 6th if you follow the teachings of Cathol.
At any rate this is tame stuff and I’ve seen worse on daytime TV in Europe (a damn shampoo commercial!). Heaven, and Cathol, help these poor bastards were they to turn on the German channel after say 6pm.

Donohue wins Daytona 24!
David Donohue follows in father Mark’s footsteps and wins the 24 for Porsche! Awesome battle at the end with Montoya and Barbosa. The last hour and a half were riveting with four prototypes on the lead lap after 22 hours.
Congrats to Brumos Racing on the win in DP and TRG for the GT win.

Failures set in, still anyone's race
Curse of half shaft for Penske. About 3 laps after my daughter declared that they’d win it. Team claims they can change the entire rear end assembly in 10 minutes. Word is that the Ford failure is a “serial failure” of the crankshaft sensor. Problem due to a clearance issue with new configuration not a manufacturing problem with sensor. The unfortunate part is that you...

Daytona 24 morning report
Settle in, have some breakfast and get ready for eight more hours of racing. Overnight both Michael Shank Racing and Krohn Racing DPs are out. Penske, Brumos, Ganassi, on the lead lap and in contention overall. Farnbacher leads GT and is eighth overall followed by The Racers Group at a mere 1:02 deficit.

That's what I call fast!
Interesting fact: Last year’s race winning Ganassi car spent a total of 18 1/2 minutes in the pits. That was 25 pits stops over 24 hours. Everything is set up for quick change: rear end assemblies, suspension, brakes, and even radiator.
Looks like Dempsey’s team is going to need some spares. Jep Thorton puts it into the tire barrier and brings out the first caution 2...

Farnbacher!!!
Farnbacher leads GT at the Daytona 24. Donohue retook the lead a few laps ago. Headed out for dinner, telling myself that I’m not staying up all night to watch this one. We’ll see how that works out.
David Donohue on pole for Rolex 24 at Daytona →
Race starts this afternoon at 3pm EST. Coverage on FOX then SPEED.
I’ve gotta admit that the Daytona 24 isn’t what it used to be. Still it represents the kick-off of the 2009 racing season in North America and hosts some of the biggest names in racing. The field includes Jimmie Johnson, Danica Patrick, Scott Dixon, Juan Pablo Montoya, Dario Franchitti, Casey Mears and even TV star...

Will Code for BBQ Part 2 →
The saga continues. Actually this one is about a site I found that features an interactive “trail” of good BBQ restaurants in North Carolina. As I noted I’ll also code for a mug of fresh ground coffee, but none of that decaf stuff.
Will code for Lexington style BBQ..

Plaxico Burress’ PSA on Gun Safety
Another cold, rainy Saturday. Don’t get me wrong we need the rain but this gray sky business is getting old. Never mind that I’m constantly trapped in the house with Dora the Explorer playing nonstop on the TV. Serenity Now!
